Gov’t and Sinosky Energy still negotiating deal

Arnaldo Santos, head of the Office for the Development of the Energy Sector (GDSE), noted that no consensus has been reached with Sinosky Energy over the setting of prices of natural gas supplies. In addition to this, he dismissed the idea of opening up the market in the territory, a move which he regarded as difficult in attracting powerful energy enterprises given its small size. Eight years into the bilateral agreement established in 2007, the Chinese energy provider is still failing to supply natural gas to the region. The government said that they are currently seeking the most appropriate solution. Lawmaker Kwan Tusi Hang earlier criticized the government for its approach to dealing with the concession.
