Briefs | Local movie awarded best short film

Local movie “Crash” won the best short film award at the 13th China Independent Film Festival, the Cultural Affairs Bureau announced earlier this week. Last year, the film was nominated in the category of best Live Action Short Film at the 53rd Golden Horse Awards in Taiwan. The 20-minute long movie tells the story of a man in his fifties who finds himself lost in the new century. It was filmed entirely in Macau, with all cast and crew members being Macau residents, according to its Macau director, Hong Heng Fai.

Hundreds of illegally parked cars blocked

As of January 9, a total of 127 illegally parked cars have been issued tickets by the Public Security Police Force (PSP), according to a PSP announcement earlier this week. Forty-six of them were towed from their parking spots for further penalties.  On January 10, the PSP fined 18 cars for overstaying the permitted length of time in their parking spots. According to PSP, the number of situations involving illegal overstaying saw a considerable reduction which could be attributed to recent continuous inspections conducted by the police force.

Zhuhai airport reports busiest CNY

The Zhuhai airport will see its largest number of visitors during the upcoming Chinese New Year (CNY), according to a report by Jornal Va Kio. This year, the airport’s CNY period will start its count from tomorrow until February 21. During this period the airport will manage flights connecting the city to 45 other locations across China.  Over 1,400 flights will take off and land during the CNY festivities. More flights will be added for destinations such as Beijing, Chongqing, Haikou, and 12 other large Chinese cities.
