Briefs | ‘Women’s Sports Festival’ attracts over 6,000

The “2017 Women’s Sports Festival” arrived at a closure after several events that joined women of two different age groups, Group A (18 to 40-year-old) and Group B (41 to 60-year-old). In this year’s event, each participant team (81 in total) competed in two different tournaments for the titles of each of the age group categories. The organizers invited groups from Beijing, Guam, Hengqin, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Philippines, Shanghai, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand to participate in the games.

Dragon Boat Race opens registration

The 2017 edition of the Macao International Dragon Boat Race will open applications from March 21 at 7 p.m. The organizers inform that, in order to apply, teams must present the participants’ list, registration forms and other documents between March 22 and April 20. The technical meeting and lucky draw will be held at 6:30 p.m. on May 5 (Friday) at the Nautical Center of Praia Grande. The event is set to be held on May 27, 28 and 30.

Rodrigo Brum to represent Portugal at Forum Macau

The group of Portuguese-speaking countries have decided on a individual to represent the bloc at the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese Speaking Countries (Macau Forum). Portugal’s Rodrigo Brum has been named to assume office as deputy secretary-general, TDM reported citing sources in Lisbon. With this appointment, Brum returns to the territory after having served in the 1990’s as Chief of Office of the deputy Secretary for Economy and Finance of the final Macau government under Portuguese administration. Brum will replace incumbent Manuel Vicente, from Mozambique.
