Corporate Bits | MGM Macau rocks out with a tribute to Amy Winehouse this Friday

141106_poster_02MGM Macau’s Lion’s Bar is hosting an exclusive tribute concert for the late Amy Winehouse, featuring acclaimed Hong Kong-based jazz singer Ginger Kwan and support from a stellar live band, including Winehouse’s former guitarist Robin Banerjee.
The one-night-only affair will be packed full of Winehouse’s signature hits, including “Tears Dry On Their Own,” “Back to Black,” “Valerie,” “Me and Mr. Jones,” and her chart-topping, Grammy award winning smash, “Rehab.” The show starts Friday evening at 9pm.

Ford’s racing culture on show at 61st Macau Grand Prix

Following the launch of its showroom and service facility in Macau earlier this year, Ford furthered its connection with Macau racing lovers at the 61st Macau Grand Prix, with teams of specially-modified Fiesta STs entering this year’s CTM Macau Touring Car Cup.
Formula Racing Development (FRD) Ford Hong Kong Racing team’s entry into the Cup was made possible by a partnership between FRD and Ford Motor Company, with the support of Future Motors Limited, Ford’s sole distributor in Hong Kong.
The Vang Iec Racing Team, supported by Winson Motors (Macau) Limited – Ford’s exclusive partner in Macau – also challenged for the title in eye-catching hot pink Fiesta STs.
“We are excited to have kicked off our involvement in the Macau Grand Prix this year, and congratulate both teams on their efforts. As we deepen our engagement with communities in Hong Kong and Macau, we’re committed to giving customers even more ways to interact with the Ford brand,” said David Westerman, managing director, Asia Pacific Emerging Markets, Ford Motor Company.

Ice World, Asia’s largest annual indoor frozen wonderland, returns to The Venetian Macao for its triumphant year beginning today. Supported by the Macau Government Tourist Office, Penguins Undercover Ice World with the DreamWorks Gang takes guests on a tour of the different settings of everyone’s favorite DreamWorks Animation characters, carved in ice by talented craftsmen from Harbin. The ice sculpture exhibition is part of the DreamWorks Winter Experience at Cotai Strip Resorts.
An opening ceremony yesterday afternoon featured a lively dance performance by the Penguins of Madagascar characters at The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Expo Hall F, where Ice World will be open to the public 11 a.m.-8 p.m. daily from today to March 8.
