MGM Macau is presenting the first-time exhibition “A Golden Way of Life – Très’Ors” at MGM Art Space from now until September 3, 2017.
As part of the Le French May Silver Jubilee Celebrations, the exhibition invites the public to embark on an exploration of a collection of over 250 exquisite gold creations and artifacts, including classic and contemporary art works, religious artifacts, vintage furniture pieces, fashion and accessories, watches and jewelry, and objects from everyday life, all made between the 17th century and the modern day.
An opening ceremony was held at MGM Art Space yesterday. The ceremony was officiated by Alexis Tam, the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Eric Berti, Consul General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, Pansy Ho, Co-Chairperson and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited, and Grant Bowie, the Chief Executive officer and Executive Director of MGM.
“In the past ten golden years, MGM Macau has been a contributor to the city’s cultural and economic development. Through an array of art and cultural events, MGM has been bringing the world to Macau with world-class art experience, and bringing Macau to the world with MGM Art Space and its innovative programs,” said Pansy Ho.
“With the opening of MGM Cotai, we will continue to pursue widespread art and cultural magnificence, connecting East and West and blending tradition with innovation.”
Eric Berti, said at the ceremony: “This exhibition brought over 250 works together for the first time, from French museums and private collections, among them remarkable pieces from Musée Notre-Dame de Fourvieère in Lyon, a 1930’s Zadkine sculpture, jewels from the Bouncheron collection, and vintage pieces by Yves Saint Laurent. This exhibition celebrates in a very unique way, the French creators and the ‘savoir faire à la francaise’ and I am very happy to present it in Macau.”
MGM Art Space will open to all members of the public free of admission until September 3, 2017. The art space is open from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. from Tuesday to Sunday, and will be closed on Mondays and public holidays.
