In the aftermath of the recent typhoons, Sands China Ltd. is continuing its aid to local non-government organizations, by assisting Caritas Macau, Macau Special Olympics (MSO), and the Association of Parents of the People with Intellectual Disabilities of Macau.

The gaming operator has been providing the associations with transportation support by purchasing new vehicles to replace damaged ones, so as to help them maintain their essential operations.

Sands China is providing three 7-seater vans with drivers for Caritas Macau’s Good Take Express, which provides accessible transport services for the elderly, for those suffering from chronic illnesses, and to assist people with reduced-mobility with trips between home and hospital.

To assist Macau Special Olympics (MSO) students, the company is providing three buses with drivers and one van to transport MSO members to school.

The company will provide support to the association until their own damaged buses are repaired and services are fully resumed.

Two buses and drivers are also being provided for the Association of Parents of the People with Intellectual Disabilities of Macau, helping the association to continue to provide support and assistance to its members, allowing them to continue taking advantage of their learning opportunities by transporting them to class and day care.

According to a statement issued by Sands China, the group will continue these interim services as needed. Meanwhile, the company has also donated MOP250,000 to each of the organizations for their emergency use, such as for the repair of typhoon-damaged service vehicles. The company has also pledged to replace the organizations’ damaged vehicles.

Wilfred Wong, president of Sands China Ltd., said: “We are a resilient community, and Sands China is happy to do its part to assist with relief efforts and help community organizations get back to providing essential services to their members.”
