Corporate bits | Sands inaugurates procurement academy

Sands China Ltd. inaugurated the Sands Procurement Academy yesterday at the Adelson Advanced Education Center at The Venetian Macao.

The academy is providing tailor-made practical modules to local small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), with the first round being offered every Monday from June 19 to July 24. Classes will be facilitated by lecturers with various areas of expertise covering six topics including effective warehouse management, logistics management and supplier code of conduct.

The first training module was delivered yesterday after the inauguration ceremony.

According to the press release by Sands China, nearly 50 local SME suppliers are currently signed up to attend the six modules.

The academy is an initiative to develop local SME suppliers by sharing business knowledge and skills as part of the company’s F.I.T. program (F.I.T. stands for financial support, invitational matching, and training and development).

Bene launches food and wine special

Bene, the Italian restaurant at Sheraton Grand Macao Hotel, is introducing the Food and Wine Mercato, a wine and dinner buffet inspired by markets across Italy.

The restaurant will source inspiration from different regions in Italy each month. In June, it will feature Veneto, a region of northeast Italy which, according to Sheraton’s press release, is best known for salami, cheese, prosecco and tiramisu.

The Veneto menu includes the dishes “Amberjack Carpaccio,” “Squid Ink Risotto,” and “Pan Seared Stockyard Beef Tenderloin.” The wine will be handpicked from Amorosso Fine Wines.

The Food and Wine Mercato opens on the last weekend of every month.

The dinner buffet is priced at MOP488 per adult and MOP200 per child
