On Friday, a delegation of members of the Council of Portuguese Communities, including local lawmaker (and candidate to the Portuguese legislative elections) Pereira Coutinho and the former head of Forum Macau’s Secretariat Rita Santos, met with legal expert and TV personality Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
According to a press release issued by the Council, the councilors and Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa debated community-related issues during the meeting held in Lisbon. One of the topics discussed was the the possible benefits of the establishment of a Portuguese Consulate in Guangzhou.
The Council deals with matters related to the Portuguese diaspora. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa is said to be preparing a bid for the upcoming presidential elections in Portugal. PB
