The world of Special Ops seems to be a new trend in publishing, but author Brad Taylor, a former Delta Force operative, knows how to unveil the behind-the-scenes action.
Taylor’s main characters Pike Logan and Jennifer Cahill work for a unit called The Taskforce, a secret group of elite men and women who work outside all normal government channels. They plan and carry out their assignments with stealth, and do so well, they operate as an offshoot of the official organization known to the alphabet agencies as the real Taskforce. In Taylor’s latest Pike Logan thriller, “Days of Rage,” the enemy has insider knowledge about their clandestine operations.
The team has lost two operatives in what appears to be a routine car crash. Pike is doubtful, since one of the men was an expert in defensive driving. Still, there’s no evidence of foul play. When they discover a plot involving the Russians and a wanted terrorist from Nigeria, Pike and Jennifer quickly organize to neutralize the threat. The Russians seem to know their every move, and the president wants The Taskforce disbanded. Pike learns that his colleagues were ambushed, and he and the rest of the group are the next targets.
Taylor has crafted a terrific and fast-paced read in “Days of Rage.”
