Flights between Macau and Moscow to increase

The Macau International Airport Co. Ltd (CAM) has announced that JSC Royal Flight Airlines will increase their passenger flight services between Macau and Moscow, Russia to three charter flights a week.
A  CAM spokesperson revealed to the Times that the increase in number of flights will start July 10. Currently, JSC Royal Flight Airlines flies directly between the two cities twice a week.
According to CAM’s statement, the local airport attracted four new carriers in the first half of this year, including Vietjet, Lion Air, JSC Royal Flight Airlines and Nok Air.
The statement also revealed that TransAsia Airways and Thai Smile Airways have officially suspended their air services to Macau, effective from October 30 and August 30, 2016 respectively.
Meanwhile, passengers traveling to and from Taiwan and Southeast Asia grew by 26 percent and 30 percent respectively in June year-on-year.
The local airport has handled 3.25 million passenger movements between January and June this year, an increase of 16 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2015. Similarly, aircraft movements are 6 percent higher than a year before, with over 28,000 landings and takeoffs.
