The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) got the nod from the Secretary for Economy and Finance to recruit 50 new gambling inspectors, an official source has told the Times.
According to our source, the rules and regulations around public recruitment will be published in May in the Official Gazette and the whole process will take about one year.
Currently there are around 120 inspectors working for the DICJ, a number that was deemed “insufficient” by the gaming commissioner, Paulo Chan, after he took over the position from Manuel Neves on December 1.
With the new inspectors, the DICJ “will have at least one inspector per casino, on every shift,” the source explained.
Today, the MSAR has a total of 36 casinos. PC
