Indian lawmaker suggests Kerala follow “Macau’s style” to prevent rape

A member of the Legislative Assembly in Kerala, India, has suggested that the state should follow “Macau’s style” of preventing cases of rape and violence against women. He has said that opening up sex shops and nightclubs will reduce men and women’s frustrations in Kerala.
According to news website Truthdive.com, Abdullah Kutty has written a travelogue, Macau Yathra, after having visited the city alongside his wife and two children.
He is a member of the Legislative Assembly for Kannur, a district in North Kerala, and has previously been accused of rape by a woman involved in a solar panel scam. However, she later retracted her accusation.
Abdullah Kutty said that his wife, who is a medical doctor, “was amused when he wanted to visit a sex toy store,” where they saw male and female plastic figures filled with gas, as well as battery-operated sex toys.
Moreover, he said that his wife was unaware of the existence of such toys, which made him wonder: if a medical doctor does not know these sex shops exist, what about commoners?
The member of the Legislative Assembly has vowed to launch a public debate on sex, since crime against women has been increasing.
In another book he wrote on Kerala’s development, he advocated for a ban on protests. He also suggested that some Arab countries have opened sex shops and nightclubs to ease men’s frustration.
