Macau Foundation concludes payment to Hato victims

The Macau Foundation (FM) said in a statement yesterday that they have concluded the payments to the families of victims of Typhoon Hato.

The Foundation used a total of MOP3 million for the payments to the families of the 10 fatal victims.

According to the same statement, another of the catastrophe relief programs, relating to the residential repairs, will be implemented soon.

The foundation noted that they will proceed to examine each of the requests and send staff to each site to learn about the current situation to ensure that the support can effectively assist the residents affected by the disaster.

Until now, the FM is said to have received a total of 7,595 applications. People wishing to apply to the Residential Restoration Fund must submit their applications before September 30.

Regarding the “Medical Assistance Subsidy”, the registration of which ended on August 31, the Macau Foundation is currently checking the entries warning the applications to prepare all receipts and documents needed to be submitted in between September 1 and October 31.

Separately, the Transport Bureau (DSAT) has established teams that are operating in the car parks affected by flooding in order to accelerate the process of removing the vehicles affected by the floods, the DSAT informed.
The plan is to assist the owners of the affected vehicles in order to quickly free up the space.
Such teams will be in operation until September 10 (Sunday) from 9.30 to 11 a.m. and from 7 to 8.30 p.m.
The bureau also informed that on the first morning of this effort (yesterday morning) the DSAT helped to cancel the registration of a total of three vehicles that were immediately removed.
