Macau GP | Stephane Ratel assists in GT Cup coordination

1-PHOTO-ARCHIVE-59MGP_MacauGT_2012-11-18_CGPM_10The Grand Prix Committee revealed that the regulations for the FIA Formula 3 Intercontinental Cup and the FIA GT World Cup were adopted during the Federation Internationale de L’Automobile (FIA) World Motor Sport Council meeting on July 10.
In a statement issued yesterday, the Macau Grand Prix Committee said that the format of the SJM Macau GT Cup – FIA GT World Cup will include two free practice sessions followed by a 30-minute qualifying session on Friday. On Saturday, a 12-lap Qualifying Race will determine the grid positions for Sunday’s 18-lap race.
Twenty-eight entries from
a maximum of seven manufacturers will be invited to enter by the FIA GT World Cup Selection Committee, on which the Macau Grand Prix Committee is represented.
The president of the Automobile General Association Macau-China (AAMC),
Chong Coc Veng said FIA and AAMC have selected the Stephane Ratel Organisation (SRO) to assist in the Macau GT Cup coordination. Ratel is considered an instrumental figure in GT racing’s global expansion.
Pre-entry registration for
manufacturers is open until July 20th, while driver and team entries will close on September 15th. Entries will be announced by the FIA and the AAMC. Registration for the FIA Formula 3 Intercontinental Cup and the other races on the Macau Grand Prix program will also commence in August. The 62nd Macau Grand Prix will be held from November 19 to 22.
