Portugal is on the list of European countries that received most investment from China in 2015, according to a study by the ESADE Business & Law School published in Spanish daily newspaper El Pais.
Portugal came in sixth place, with estimated investment from China of 6.6 billion euros.
In first place was the United Kingdom, with investment of 20 billion euros, particularly in the real estate sector, followed by Italy (13.8 billion euros), France (9.7 billion euros), Ireland (7 billion euros) and Germany (6.8 billion euros).
In 2015 investment by China in Europe totalled 29 billion euros, which is double the amount invested in the United States in the same year.
The study by the Catalan educational institute shows that Chinese investment in Europe rose by 55% compared to the previous year and tripled against 2013, reaching a total of USD31.38 billion (28.8 billion euros).  MDT/Macauhub
