Revamp on eastern Seac Pai Van Reservoir

The Land, Public Works and Transport Bureau (DSSPOT) announced in a press release yesterday that it plans to revamp the eastern side of the Seac Pai Van Reservoir in order to improve the traffic in the area and the quality of life of nearby residents. According to the announcement, a new road will be constructed alongside the eastern side of the reservoir. Between the road and the reservoir, DSSOPT will lay a bike trail and a jogging trail and build other facilities such as a children’s playground. The area will become a leisure and sports hub similar to that which surrounds the reservoir at NAPE.
The new road will be 500 meters long and connect the Estrada do Altinho de Ka Ho to another planned road north of the reservoir. Alongside it will be the two-lane bike trail, jogging trail, sidewalk, children’s playground, and outdoor sports facilities, as well as resting and hygiene facilities. DSSPOT indicated that it will further expand the leisure area to the remaining sides of the reservoir if the demands dictate and conditions allow.
The bureau claimed that it strives to finish the design of the project as soon as possible, and aims to complete the bidding process for the construction of the road, as well as the leisure and sports area, in the first half of 2015. It estimated that the area will be open to the public in 2016.
