The total number of licensed motor vehicles reached 243,966 at the end of June, up by 4.9 percent year-on-year, according to information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC). Motorcycles and light private cars accounted for 51.9 percent and 41.4 percent respectively.
The statistics indicate that registrations of new motor vehicles in June decreased significantly by 24.5 percent year-on-year to 1,337. However, the registration of new vehicles in the first half of the year increased by 2.3 percent year-on-year to 10,046.
In the first half of 2015, the number of traffic accidents totaled 7,617, up by 1.3 percent year-on-year, resulting in 2,675 casualties, 9 of which were fatalities. Considering the month of June alone, there were 388 traffic victims, including two deaths.
Cross-border vehicle trips totaled 418,469 in June, up by 2.9 percent year-on-year. In the first half of 2015, cross-border vehicle trips increased by 4.9 percent year-on-year to 2,530,799. Passenger ferry movements between Macau and Hong Kong and between the MSAR and mainland China totaled 72,677 in the first half of the year, an increase of 3.9 percent year-on-year.
The Macau International Airport registered 4,129 commercial flight movements in June 2015, up by 7.8 percent year-on-year.
According to the data released by the DSEC, during the first half of 2015, commercial flights increased by 8.7 percent year-on-year to 25,480, with movements to and from mainland China, Taiwan and Thailand rising by 4.9 percent, 2.8 percent and 7.2 percent respectively. Meanwhile, helicopter flights in the first half of 2015 decreased by 9.2 percent year-on-year to 7,046.
The gross weight of seaborne containerized cargo increased by 8.3 percent to 133,077 tones in the first half of 2015.
The first half of the year also saw inward air cargo (3,486 tones) and outward air cargo (7,364 tones) increase by 10.1 percent and 3.1 percent respectively year-on-year. Taiwan remained the major origin and destination of air cargo.

At the end of June 2015, the number of mobile telephone subscribers had increased by 10.5 percent to 1,864,955, of which stored-value GSM card subscribers constituted 64.2 percent. Regarding Internet services, the number of subscribers totaled 316,593 and the cumulative duration of usage in the first half of 2015 reached 518 million hours, up by 11.2 percent and 12 percent respectively year-on-year. The number of fixed-line telephone subscribers decreased by 3.5 percent year-on-year to 150,640.
