‘Taste Macau:’ InMedia Asia Group launches food & beverage app

1 MG_1000The InMedia Asia Group has launched a new food & beverage app, providing information on over 1,000 Macau restaurants. ‘Taste Macau,’ which is already available for iPhone and Android, is intended to share information with residents and tourists on the city’s food & beverage offerings, while providing details on its location, type of cuisine, and schedule.
The CEO of InMedia Asia Group, Oscar Sousa Marques, said he is aware of competitors, but believes this app still brings added value. “We have a competitive advantage, because we have a huge database of restaurants, over 1,000 listed in this app. Also it’s available in both traditional and simplified Chinese, as well as in English,” he stated.
The new app was launched on Wednesday at Caesars Golf Club. Mr Marques added that “Taste Macau” has different features from other apps on the market, and allow users to search restaurants by their location, price range, and add those they most like to their list of favorites.
Furthermore, Mr Marques said that the app would be regularly updated by InMedia Asia Group’s staff.
‘Taste Macau’ is a free app intended for Macau residents, but also eyeing millions of tourists that visit Macau each year. InMedia Asia’s CEO said that they are collaborating with a local association of concierges to send prospective visitors a link to download the app before they visit Macau.
In a second phase, the company is looking to allow users to write reviews for the restaurants they like.
Mr Marques also announced on Wednesday that InMedia Asia Group has been appointed Google Premier Small and Medium-Sized Business (SMB) Partner, becoming Google’s authorized dealer for Google AdWords in Macau in October.
The general manager of Channel Business Operation at Google, Mr Bai Yong, said that this partnership was created under the Google AdWords Premier Program, which allows small and medium-sized enterprises to do business with the American multinational.
“Our goal is to work with our partners to help local SMEs to adopt digital technology, use it to promote their business, and [ultimately to help them] grow their business,” he stressed.
Mr Marques explained that with AdWords users are able to see ads in the upper part and right side of the webpage when they use Google search engine. “We sell those sponsors ads,” he said.
The InMedia Asia Group brings together over 50 professionals from Macau, Hong Kong, Portugal, America and Japan. Its two companies, Directel Macau and Hogo, work on improving and enhancing Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises’ online marketing strategy.
