Appeals process begins for Nolasco da Silva and Ao Man Long relatives

The  penalties  applied  to  the  three family members of Ao Man Long and entrepreneur  Frederico  Nolasco  da Silva, a court case  linked  to  the scandal of corruption  involving  the  former  secretary, were  “too  heavy”.  The  defence  stated  that the  prosecution  lawyers  themselves  ac-knowledged the exaggeration in response to appeals  that began  to be discussed yester-day at the Court of Second Instance (TSI). Frederico  Nolasco  was  sentenced  to  10 years in June during a process in the Court of  First  Instance  (TJB),  as well  as  a  com-pensation of 30 million patacas.
