Asian Olympic media committee meets in Macau

Image  The Media Committee of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) gathered in Macau for the first time last week as part of the Asian Indoor Games Chef-de-Mission Meeting.
The meeting, chaired by Macau's Mr Sport, Manuel Silverio, this time wearing that hat of  committee president,  covered the arrangements of media services and broadcasting for the upcoming indoor games.
OCA Director General and Technical Director Husain Al Musallam said he aimed to increase the communication between the committee and the media while tightening the news release procedures.

The two sample system of drug testing was covered in much detail with  OCA Manager for Anti Doping, Mahmoud Ali, underlining that two samples from athletes will be analysed before any indication of a positive result will be given.
In the past the release of positive results from single tests has cuased much confusion amongst media, athletes and organisers.
The indoor games committee announced that the media centre for the event will be located in the new Venetian Macau Resort Hotel.
This is the first meeting of the Media Committee after the members’ appointment at the OCA executive board meeting in Almaty, Kazakhstan last month.
The next meeting will be hosted in Macau during the games during which the OCA Executive Board Meeting and General Assembly will also be held.
