UM scales up H1N1 prevention measures

With one confirmed case of H1N1 in Macau, the University of Macau(UM) is now reinforcing its prevention measures against the virus to prevent an outbreak on campus.
The university says it had put prevention measures in place during May.  UM established a campus crisis management group and a webpage updating the latest information and guidelines from the health bureau (SSM), in order to keep students and staff well informed.  Cleaning and disinfection of many of the public spaces on campus has been stepped up, including elevators and door handles, face mask distribution, and self help disinfection dispensers in places of busy human traffic.
The SSM’s guidelines are being followed strictly by UM, and communication remains open between the two.  Both students and staff are urged to report immediately any flu symptoms and pay close attention to personal hygiene.
