Man admits killing father

The Judiciary Police (PJ) reported the latest updates on the alleged murder which took place on Tuesday.

A 28-year-old local man was arrested on charges of killing his father, a local resident in his 50s. He has confessed to the murder.

The incident took place on Tuesday morning, at a residence unit of the Edf. Man On, located in Iao Hon.

According to the PJ, the victim and the suspect frequently came to blows following family disputes, and their relationship was described as analogous to that between a tenant and a landlord.

The father was stabbed by his son in the neck after he fell into a coma. The accused was unemployed at the time of the alleged murder, having returned to Macau in 2013 upon finishing his studies in Taiwan.

The victim was diagnosed with mental problems in 1995 and has been undergoing treatment since then.

The victim previously lived with his daughters, having only moved in with his son at the end of 2016.

The accused has confessed guilt. Following a medical evaluation indicating that the accused had no mental health problems at the time of committing the offence and his confession was made while in a normal mental state, the PJ is now considering the confession valid.
