TUI rules companies must pay fine for LRT delay

The Court of Final Appeal’s (TUI) judgment has ruled that the three companies awarded the construction contract for the Light Rapid Transit (LRT) should pay fines for delaying the LRT’s construction. The three companies appealed on the basis that the delays around the construction resulted from the fact that another company was carrying out engineering works on the related LRT project location.  Previously, in December 2017, the three companies appealed to the Court of Second Instance, but had their appeal dismissed. TUI judged that the delay must be the companies’ responsibility.
