An event dedicated to business tourism was set to bring together operators and the public yesterday in the Mozambican capital to assess “the qualities and capabilities” of the sector in Mozambique, organizers said in a statement sent to Macauhub in Maputo.
The first edition of the Mozambique “Business Travel Salon” is promoted by the Dana Agency, a local business of the American Express Global Business Travel group, and follows events of the same nature carried out in Portugal and Angola by the Travelstore Group.
With conferences dedicated to business tourism, the event will “discuss the trends and challenges” of a sector whose growth has been around 14 percent per year, “roughly twice the economic growth rates” of the country overall.
The planned topics for the conference include discussion of issues such as “quality of service provided” by operators, the “search for new technological tools” and “growing competition”.
The event will present the “Business Travel Barometer,” study carried out in several countries by American Express, which is intended to demonstrate the profile and needs of customers in this tourism area in Mozambique.  MDT/Macauhub
