CRIME | Consensual teen intercourse sparks abuse accusation

Consensual sex between two local teenagers has led the family of the girl to press charges against the boy, accusing him of sexual abuse of a minor, the Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesperson informed yesterday during a press conference.

The case was first opened on July 20 when the mother of the girl  presented a complaint against the boy for sexually abusing her 13 year old daughter.

In fact, the boy was only 14 years old, and they both attend school in the Areia Preta area.

The incident occurred on July 15 when the two teenagers arranged a meeting to walk around the city together.

According to the report, they met at around 4 p.m. and walked around for about three hours until they decided to head to a building rooftop in the Areia Preta area where they had sexual intercourse.

Eventually, the girl told the story to a friend who warned the girl’s mother about it, leading her to present a complaint to the PJ.

On August 9, while re-entering the region by the Border Gate checkpoint, the police detained the boy for questioning.

The boy denied any unlawful or forced behavior, telling the police that both had planned the meeting and they had had “safe sex” using a condom.

Also questioned by the police, the girl also acknowledged that she had not been forced into having sex, noting also that this was not her first sexual experience as she had had sex on previous occasions with her boyfriend (a different boy).

The case is still under investigation from the PJ.

In a separate case reported during the same press conference by the PSP, the family of an underage girl has reported to the PSP that the girl had gotten pregnant from a sexual relationship with an adult,  aged 19.

Although her pregnancy is yet to be confirmed, the family claimed the girl’s menstruation was late, which led them to believe she is pregnant.

As in the previous case, both the sexual partners are students at the same school.

They have reportedly been in a relationship since November last year.

It is not clear also at this stage what led the family to report this to the PSP as, according to the PSP spokesperson, no formal accusation of any criminal activity has been made.
