Portuguese Minister of Culture tours Macau

Luís Filipe Castro Mendes, the Portuguese Minister of Culture, is visiting the region where he will participate in the first edition of the “Encounter in Macau – Arts and Cultural Festival between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries,” as well as meeting with several top officials.

According to Radio Macau, Mendes will be present today at an event at the Macau Portuguese School, before traveling to have lunch with Chief Executive Chui Sai On.
The agenda of the Portuguese official continues in the afternoon and includes a visit to the Consulate General of Portugal in Macau where he will consult with Consul-General Vitor Sereno.

In the evening the Minister will attend to the main reason behind his visit; the inauguration ceremony of the exhibition “Chapas Sínicas – Stories of Macau in Torre do Tombo,” at the Handover Gifts Museum of Macau.

Tomorrow, Mendes will be part of an event included in the Arts and Cultural Festival and will also meet with the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Alexis Tam.
