The weather in the region is expected to be affected by a northeast monsoon, leading to a temperature drop to around 12 degrees celsius this weekend. According to the weather bureau, the northerly winds in Macau will intensify with persistent cloudy and rainy weather, therefore the perceived temperature will seem cooler due to the wind chill effect. It will then become sunny and dry in Macau early next week. The temperature will increase gradually and the difference between day and night will be much greater.
Financial reserve plunges MOP12.7b in January
The Macau SAR’s financial reserve dropped MOP12.68 billion patacas in January, according to data released in the Official Gazette. As of January, the financial reserve of the city amounted to MOP630.49 billion. As of the end of 2020, the capital of the financial reserve had risen year-on-year by 6.3% to MOP616 billion. Reviewing the 2020 fiscal year, the government stressed that it utilized MOP46.6 billion to offset the budget deficit. Meanwhile, it also transferred MOP52.26 billion from the surplus of the fiscal year 2018 to the financial reserve.
115 people on red health code
As of 8 p.m. last night, a total of 115 people who have been to Pullman Hotel in Zhuhai, Baishi Street and Baihe Street in Xiangzhou District, currently have their health codes in red and were arranged for quarantine for 14 days. According to health authorities, the move was in response to the pandemic situation in the neighboring region.
