Macau authorities yesterday detained a 22-year-old man for the alleged rape of a 12-year-old girl, Radio Macau reported. The Judiciary Police said that the suspect pretended to assist on a case that happened in December last year.
IPOR signs agreement in Hainan
The Portuguese Institute of the Orient (IPOR) has signed an agreement with the Economic and Cultural Association of Hainan to promote the Portuguese language in Hainan, while fostering exchange programs between Macau and the Chinese province. According to a statement issued by Forum Macau, which is also backing the initiative, the protocol is aimed to “develop different sectors, namely education and culture, while cementing Macau’s role as a service platform,” by training more bilingual professionals in Chinese and Portuguese. Furthermore, the agreement will lead to the production of teaching materials and the development of different cooperation mechanisms.
