Macau to participate in cross-border ambulance drill

Conde de São Januário General Hospital will join an upcoming ambulance drill as part of a cross-border patient transfer pilot program. According to an announcement by Hong Kong authorities Friday, Macau counterparts are in discussions to facilitate the simulation exercises for the pilot scheme. Designated Shenzhen ambulances will bypass road regulations to allow drills for direct transfers between hospitals in Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Macau without patient handovers at borders. The year-long pilot aims to establish point-to-point ambulance service between hospitals in Hong Kong, Macau and other Greater Bay Area cities and will launch simulations with the three locations later this year.
