Casino dealer arrested for stealing HKD310,000 in chips

A 37-year-old casino dealer was arrested for allegedly stealing HKD310,000 in casino chips on six occasions while on duty. Following a report of suspected theft, police investigated and discovered the dealer had hidden six HKD10,000 chips in his underwear during his shift Aug. 16. Officers intercepted him, recovering 16 stolen chips. The dealer, who had worked at the casino for 13 years, has admitted to the theft, claiming he lost HKD150,000 of the chips while gambling. The police continue to investigate the extent of his activities.
