Fire investigation underway near Taipa sports center

The Fire Services Bureau responded to a fire reported by the Fire Department at 9:24 a.m. yesterday. The greenery in the center of the roundabout at the Macao Stadium caught fire, near the Taipa Northeast Sports Center. The fire’s recurrence, which follows a previous incident on Sept. 18, has raised concerns. Investigators found remnants of past burns and identified a layer of “sludge soil” containing flammable materials as a potential cause. No injuries were reported, and the municipal department does not plan to pursue criminal charges. The case has been referred to the Judiciary Police (PJ) for further investigation.
