Civil servant chief forced to retire

Teng Si Un, the former chief of the Urban Planning Department of the Land, Public Works and Transport Bureau, has been forced into a mandatory retirement after being found guilty of counterfeiting documents to secure a pension, a notice published in the Official Gazette yesterday indicated.
Teng has been under investigation since 2010 after suspicions were raised over his involvement in the Ao Man Long corruption scandal. Disciplinary proceedings against Teng began shortly afterwards.
He has been found guilty of counterfeiting a statement in order to secure a retirement pension. According to TDM, he also allegedly approved a change of plans for a Taipa plot of land one day after being promoted to the head of the Urban Planning Department in 2004.
