Man arrested for taking left-behind backpack with MOP100,000

A 60-year-old man was arrested for taking a backpack containing MOP100,000 from a bus. On Dec. 27, the Public Security Police received a report from a passenger who had left the bag on the bus. After verifying with the bus company, police used the “Eyes in the Sky” system to identify the suspect and intercepted him the next day near Avenida Dr. Sun Yat-Sen in Taipa. He confessed to using some cash for gambling and lending it to friends. Police recovered MOP12,000 from his home and are investigating the remaining amount.
