Mice Gov’t aims for stronger internationalization in 2025

Vincent U, president of the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), noted shifts in business formats globally, affecting Macau’s convention and exhibition sector. In 2024, Macau hosted 1,524 events, a 31.4% increase year-on-year, though participants dropped 17.1%. Non-gaming revenue declined 8.2%, and visitor spending fell 10.3% to 4,323 yuan. Despite this, U emphasized strong recovery, predicting increased internationalization in 2025, with a 15% rise in overseas visitors.
