Corporate bits | MGM hosts employee assistance program roadshow

Gaming resort operator MGM China hosted the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Roadshow – “It Takes Love to Build a Home” for all back-of-house employees on October 6.

The Roadshow included a premiere of MGM’s second EAP short film titled, “Home is where the Love is”, as well as a host of interactive games with prizes.

“Home is where the Love is,” the second short film in the Company’s EAP short film series, was written and directed by MGM staff and features its own employees and their children. It serves as a reminder to team members to seek assistance through the EAP services, particularly the on-site counseling, when facing family or other issues.

Its intent was to “highlight the importance of harmony within the family and spread the message of love,” according to a statement from MGM.

The short film is now available for public viewing on MGM’s Facebook Page, as well as on YouTube.

Dean & Deluca opens their first China store at Galaxy

Galaxy Macau has invited New York style deli and specialty food purveyor Dean & DeLuca to open its first café in Macau this week, offering guests an iconic New York SoHo chic dining experience.

The new café is the first Dean & DeLuca site in the Greater China region and will be located in Galaxy’s The Promenade Shops, which aims to feature a unique mix of first-to-market, world-class international brands.

Dean & DeLuca was founded by Joel Dean and Giorgio DeLuca in September 1977 in SoHo, a district in lower Manhattan, New York. Since then, it has earned a reputation as an icon of New York City’s culture and lifestyle.

The local branch is incorporating a Macau flavor in its dishes, including African Chicken in Focaccia Croquette, made of fragrant, butter-rich sweet bread filled with minced chicken, carrot and celery.
