Mr Kwong said that the four higher education institutions have finished compiling the opinions collected from local schools and teachers regarding the preliminary mock syllabus and mock papers that were distributed to them at the beginning of the year.
An amended version of mock examination papers for Chinese, English, Mathematics and Portuguese will be sent to schools this month.
“During the summer holiday, professors from different subjects have had discussions. The arrangement [of the mock syllabus and papers] is at the final stage now,” Mr Kwong said.
He added that the four local tertiary education institutions that will conduct the joint entrance examination are still discussing who should grade the exam papers. However, the principle is that the teaching staff from the four institutions will mark the papers.
“[In principle], there will not be teachers from outside the four institutions who will grade the papers. As for the marking scheme, the representatives of different subjects will come up with their schemes so that the teachers who will mark the paper will know about the [consistent] requirement,” Mr Kwong said.
He also suggested that schools could decide whether to allow students to take in-school mock exams with the papers distributed to them.
Starting in 2017, four local tertiary education institutions, including MUST, the University of Macau, Macau Polytechnic Institute and the Institute for Tourism Studies, will admit students though a joint entrance examination.
Currently, all universities and higher education institutes in Macau have their own admission schemes.  JPL
