HENGQIN | Zhuhai released first plot of land for bidding by Macau enterprises

The Land and Resources Bureau of Zhuhai has announced that land in Hengqin is now being listed on the Internet for bidding. This is the first plot of land released by Zhuhai that is specifically intended for the Guangdong-Macau Cooperation Industrial Park.
The bidding process, the entirety of which will be conducted on the Internet, finishes on July 23.
According to the announcement, the plot of land measures 19,939.94 square meters in size, and is intended solely for commercial or exhibitive use.
Bidding is reserved for enterprises from Macau that meet the criteria set by the Framework Agreement on Cooperation Between Guangdong and Macau. Furthermore, the authorities will not accept personal bids or joint bidding between businesses.
The successful bidder will obtain the right to use the land for a 40 year period.
Moreover, the Land and Resources Bureau of Zuhai has stated that should the winning bidder wish to sell any part of a structure built on the land in the future – then no less than 50 percent of the total floor area must be sold to enterprises, individuals or organizations from Macau or owned by Macau residents.
