The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) has announced that it is now accepting program proposals for the 16th Macau City Fringe Festival which will be held in January 2017. According to a statement from the IC, all local associations registered at the Identification Services Bureau and artistic practitioners are welcome to submit their proposals by August 26.
Artists and associations are encouraged to transform their ideas into detailed program proposals. Acts can be local, from abroad, or cross-regional collaborations produced in any art form.
Over the years, the annual festival has adopted the slogan, “All around the city, our stages, our patrons, our artists,” reads the IC statement. It is “derived from the abstract concepts by artists locally and from different parts of the world presented in the streets and lanes of the city.”
The 16th edition of the festival will include interactive sessions such as “Program Showcase,” which will allow foreign artists to have a better understanding about the current state of art development in Macau. It hopes to enhance links and collaboration between local and international artists.
Interested local associations should submit their applications along with supporting documents to the IC building at Tap Seac Square during office hours by August 26.
