IPM to organize conference on higher education

The conference titled ‘The New Frontiers of Teaching and Learning Quality Assurance in Higher Education,” organized by Macao Polytechnic Institute (IPM) and co-organized by the Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN), will be held at the institute today and tomorrow.

This two-day conference will consist of presentations of more than 20 papers by academics and experts coming from countries and regions such as the U.K., Portugal, Australia, Japan, India, Sri Lanka, mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau.

The conference themes include: theories and practices of teaching and learning quality assurance systems, deep learning, outcome-based approach to teaching and learning, student evaluation of teachers (SET) and teacher self-
evaluation (TSE), voice of students to enhance teaching effectiveness and such.

According to the institute’s statement, the event is intended to be a platform for participants to learn about the latest trends of international quality assurance and best practices of international institutions, thereby promoting the advancement of the quality of higher education in the territory.

The conference will also feature a number of parallel sessions and a talk by industry experts.

The conference opening and keynote sessions will commence at 2.30 p.m. today in IPM’s Wui Chi Building.
