Coloane dockyard partially collapses

Part of the wooden pillars of a dockyard in Coloane’s Lei Chi Vun Village broke again yesterday, following a ceiling collapse earlier this month, TDM reported. The police have arranged a barricade, and no injuries have been reported. The Land, Public Works and Transport Bureau declared the building to be at risk of total collapse. The person in charge of the dockyard admitted to forwarding the plans for rehabilitation to the Marine and Water Bureau, which recommended five households in the area move out. The Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Alexis Tam, visited the site yesterday and said that the dockyard owners had been instructed to do the much needed repair works.
