BRIEFS: Worker dies after construction site fall

A man died yesterday after falling from the fourth floor of a construction site, TDM News reported. Police said that the incident took place at around 12pm at the Macau Baptist College site. The 46-year-old man was a Macau resident who was working on the reconstruction of the building. Authorities suspect that he was not using safety equipment. He lost consciousness after falling and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Flat fire causes one victim

A 60-year-old man died yesterday after a fire broke out at his flat located in the Mong Ha social housing complex, TDM reported. When the Fire Brigade entered the apartment, the bedroom was still on fire and the man was lying on the floor unconscious. He was taken to the hospital but pronounced dead in the emergency room. Authorities are still investigating the case but believe the fire was caused by an electrical circuit overload.

The exhibition “Make Your Own Legend – Paintings by Joey Ho Chong I” opened yesterday on the 3rd floor of the Macau Museum of Art (MAM). Local artist Joey Ho Chong I explores imagery associated with popular stories among Buddhists. The event is featured as part of the Macao Arts Window 2014. The exhibition will be showcased until January 25.
