PJ warns public of scam mimicking DSF website

The Judiciary Police (PJ) received reports last week of a new online scam sending text messages purporting to come from the Financial Services Bureau (DSF) website. The scam asks citizens to provide their credit card details, according to the PJ’s announcement. The DSF has reported to the police and clarified that no such SMS was sent.
“These fake cell phone SMSs are not related to our bureau and have been reported to the police. We hereby remind the public to be vigilant, not to click on the relevant fraudulent links and provide them with your personal information,” the DSF’s clarification statement read.
The bureau said that this online scam worked by sending SMS in the name of “DSF,” asking people to fill out a self-
declaration form in order to continue using their credit card services. The statement also pointed out that the scam link used in those SMS is “https://gov.dsf.tax.”
The PJ warns anyone receiving similar SMS messages should not access any links in the SMS or fill in any personal information in order to not to be stolen from. Staff reporter
