The “Safe & Quality Destination – Glamorous Macao” Travel Roadshow was held this weekend in Shenzhen by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) to promote upcoming events and community activities for the year — specifically the 68th Macau Grand Prix, the Macao Light Festival 2021, and the Light up Macao Drone Gala.
The roadshow features themed showcase zones, stage performances and many interactive activities to immerse the citizens of Shenzhen in Macau’s festive ambience, showcasing it as a safe and quality destination to draw in more mainland visitors for a tourism and economic revival.
MGTO partnered with Lvmama.com, a travel website from China, to present the “Safe & Quality Destination – Glamorous Macao” Travel Roadshow’s opening ceremony on Saturday.
Some of the upcoming events and festivities in Macau presented at the themed showcase zones were: the Grand Prix, Macau Food Festival, Macao Light Festival, and others. The zones allowed Shenzhen citizens to experience the unique charm of Macau’s mega events.
MGTO seized the” opportunity of the roadshow by partnering with the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM). They organized a “Macau Tourism and MICE presentation seminar” in Shenzhen on Friday, displaying the strengths of Macau’s tourism and MICE industries to the trade there.
The IPIM and MGTO have rolled out in-person promotions together for tourism and MICE since early March this year, across a number of different cities in the Greater Bay Area.
While the roadshow is staged, MGTO and Lvmama.com are jointly offering Macau hotel packages and discounted tickets for travel attractions in the city, providing the citizens of Shenzhen with special offers during their visits to Macau, enabling them to experience the city’s festivities first-hand.
Visitor arrivals have been averaging 25,000 per day from the last week of October, according to information from the MGTO, since border restrictions were eased on October 19. Recently, the number of visitors have been increasing — first time arrivals having exceeded 30,000 on the last Friday of October. Staff reporter
