S.F. Express announced on Friday that all deliveries in and out of mainland China have been suspended in Hong Kong and Macau due to anti-Covid-19 control measures.
The company’s decision came after 11 Covid-19 cases were reported in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province.
It is reported that S.F. Express’s transfer center is not directly delivering goods to users, but mainly sorting parcels and then transporting them after sorting them according to regions.
S.F. has a number of transit centers in Hangzhou, and S.F. parcels entering and leaving Hangzhou must be transferred through these transit centers.
Macau health authorities are reminding citizens to be cautious with online purchases.
“This situation reveals that shopping on electronic platforms runs the risk of being contaminated by the new type of coranavirus,” said a representative of the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Center.
“Therefore, the center alerts citizens to handle with care, products purchased by mail and appeals to residents to pay attention [to these risks].” JW
