Registration is full for the mini marathon category of the 2022 Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon, organizers announced yesterday. All places for the marathon and half marathon categories were filled Saturday. The Active Group Trophies will be awarded to the school, sports association, government-registered organization, and public and private entities with the highest number of participants who complete the mini-marathon. A total of 12,000 entries were made available for the registration of athletes of all levels and the three racing distances, with the larger portion (5,800) reserved for the mini-marathon. 4,800 entries were available for the half-marathon distance and the remaining 1,400 for the full marathon.
Alvin Chau disposes of shares in Yeah Yeah Group
Alvin Chau disposed of his shares in the former Sun Entertainment Group Ltd., totaling 731 million shares valued at HKD0.030 per share after the close on Friday. Currently known as Yeah Yeah Group Holdings Ltd, the firm said it was “not aware of the identities of the counterparties” involved in the disposals conducted by Chau, “or of their respective principal business activities.” With the reduction of his holdings, Chau now has a 2.17% shareholding, down 37.04% from before the disposal. The former mogul was arrested in November and is facing over 200 charges of fraud, money laundering and illegal gambling.
Residential property price on decline
The overall residential property price index for June – August 2022 decreased 1.4% over the previous period (May – July 2022) to 254.8. The indices for the Peninsula (255.1) and Taipa and Coloane (253.9) fell 1.6% and 0.2% respectively, Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) data shows. The index for existing residential units (272.5) fell 1.3%; the index for those in the Macao Peninsula (265.0) fell 1.6% while the index for those in Taipa and Coloane (302.7) rose 0.1%. Realtor Centaline recently predicted real estate prices will remain low despite the expectation of better tourism prospects. Government data shows property prices have steadily fallen 2% to 3% in the past two months.
