Eligible Macau residents and mainland people working in Greater Bay Area are now able to pay online for social security insurance and sign tripartite agreement issues as well as access consulting services on insurance payment and related policies at the Industrial & Commercial Bank of China (ICBC)’s branches in Macau.
“Cross-border integrated processing” of social security business involving Macau was agreed to earlier this week by the Zhuhai Municipal Taxation Bureau, Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone Hengqin Taxation Bureau, ICBC (Macao), and multiple departments in Zhuhai and Macau.
Only last year, the provincial taxation authority launched a WeChat mini program “Guangdong Tax Connect” for users to register for social security insurance and entrust a bank for payment. What’s more, a V-Tax remote tax processing self-service outlet was set up at Guangdong-Macao Industrial & Commercial Service Center in Macau.
Cross-border processing saves the time and cost for Macau residents and mainland migrant workers and promotes further integration of Zhuhai and Macau in terms of livelihoods.
Currently, there are 70,000 Macau residents covered by basic medical insurance in Zhuhai, while 2,000 mainland migrant workers to Macau participate as flexible employees in social security insurance in the city. Staff Reporter
