Macao Orchestra showdown coming season’s repertoire

In its coming concert season, Macao Orchestra (OM) will revolve around Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff as a motif to celebrate the 150th anniversary of his birth. The orchestra has invited young local musician Lio Kuokman to replace Lu Jia as music director and principal conductor. A highlight of the season is the concert with animation featuring Disney’s Aladdin, which will celebrate its 31st anniversary next year. There is another concert that will present pieces from renowned Cantonese opera Floral Princess with western instruments. Tickets to concerts are now available for sale.
