Between Jan. 1 and Oct. 20 this year, 126 people in the city received the monkeypox vaccine, with local authorities having procured 2,800 doses, the local broadcaster has reported. In September, Macau recorded its first local monkeypox case. Before that, two cases reportedly had connections with Macau – a Hong Kong patient who had been to Macau during the incubation period, and a local resident who was a close contact with a monkeypox patient – that the Health Bureau (SSM) had followed up. The SSM also disclosed that, so far, no additional cases have been logged.
