Gaming ops announce bonuses, pay rise

Gaming operators have announced a one-month discretionary bonus for all eligible non-management team members before the Chinese New Year.

Over the weekend, Melco Resorts & Entertainment said the “bonus payout and base salary increase recognize the dedication, loyalty and hard work of our eligible non-management colleagues.”

In addition to the bonus, the company has also announced a 2.5% base salary increase for all eligible non-management employees, effective April 1.

Melco is the second gaming operator to announce a salary increase, following Sands China’s announcement last week of a 2.5% to 5.4% pay rise effective March 1.

In a Legislative Assembly plenary session in August, the Chief Executive announced the proposal to increase civil servants’ wages and called on the gaming concessionaires to follow suit.

“I can only negotiate with the gaming concessionaires and hope that post-pandemic they can assume their social responsibilities,” the CE previously remarked.

Meanwhile, Wynn Macau also announced a one-month bonus, which will be paid by month-end, benefiting 96.7% of its workforce.

This bonus is being awarded to show the “company’s appreciation to all employees for their collective efforts and contribution,” as cited in a statement. LV
