During the testing of trains on the Seac Pai Van LRT line, two trains collided at Union Hospital Station early yesterday, resulting in injuries to four train drivers. Three of the injured drivers underwent immediate examination at the hospital and were discharged shortly afterwards, while the fourth was discharged in the morning following further examination.
The accident has raised significant concerns, according to the Public Works Bureau. While initial investigations suggest that it was not a collision from behind while the train was in motion, investigators have not ruled out the possibility of human error as the cause of the incident. As a result of the incident, all testing on the Seac Pai Van and Hengqin lines has been temporarily halted. HT
